Can you believe it is already November? I woke up this morning (Sunday) and completely forgot that it was daylight savings time, but immediately knew that something seemed off with the amount of light streaming in through my windows. I turned on the morning news to realize quickly that I had forgotten the change in time and I thought, I should feel more rested for it being an hour later. Anyways, my lack of sleep is backed up by a healthy dose of stress, but it is all stemming from good news! While our clocks may be falling back, Wine Culture is definitely moving forward!
I know that it has been a couple of weeks since the last update and things may have sounded pretty bleak, but a lot has changed since then and I am now in final negotiations for the same location that I thought perhaps was lost. If all continues to go well, I should be sharing the new location with you all in the very near future. I truly believe that this is meant to be and that it is the perfect place for Wine Culture to open its doors.
This week is exciting, because I have the first meeting with the Design Firm that will be helping to bring my vision for Wine Culture to life. We will discuss the look and feel of the shop and go over the initial designs and styles that will be in the final detailed layout. Once this layout is complete, it will be sent to the general contractor who can then start getting a more accurate idea of the mechanical, engineering and plumbing estimates. These are important because they are a large part of the costs of the initial build-out. The interior design will also be detailed out on design boards, which will be a great asset to the crowdfunding marketing campaign. I was able to start talking with the crowdfunding organization last week, and they are also excited to get started on the big push to get Wine Culture fully funded. I can’t wait to see this come to life!
So, what is next? Well, only everything! While signing a lease is a HUGE first step that I am so excited to take, that will be where the actual work begins. It is also when the countdown begins for the big grand opening…coming Springtime of 2021. I will be sure to share pictures of the work as it is happening so that you can all be a part of the experience and help build the excitement.
I know that there is a lot going on in the country this week so I hope that this update can bring a little joy for something good to come in the future. We all need something to look forward to and I am confident that Wine Culture is going to be something and somewhere that will not only be good, but will be a part of bringing the community back together again following a very difficult year. Next year is just around the corner and I promise to provide a place that friends can gather and life can feel a little more normal again.
